ok so i thought that the new iphone 4′s price was 199 for an 16gb but when i go to telus.ca(http://www.telusmobility.com/en/ON/iphones/index.shtml?INTCMP=ILCq4ph5) it says that it is
649 with no term why is the price so much higher

Question by ???: Iphone plans and other questions about it easy 10 points?
So i decided o get an iphone however i am unsure..
How much is it a month to use the internet wherever you want?
Also do you have to get the plan for texting or can you just use textfree apps?
How much is it for calling plans and is it mandatory that you get one?
Cant you just get the plan for internet wherever alone without the texts and calls?

I love the iPhone. Honestly, it is not that expensive to own one. I was on Verizon with a regular phone and it cost the same for me to have an iPhone with everything.

I know that per month it is for the data plan which is unlimited.
Also I’m pretty sure it is mandatory to get a calling plan. You can get the lowest call plan if you do not use your phone often, and remember if you get the iPhone with AT&T (if you don’t an unlocked iPhone) then the minutes roll over if you don’t use them! so you are really adding more minutes, which is awesome if you don’t ever use them and then one month use a lot.

if you don’t want the text and calls you should consider getting the iTouch, it’s the same thing without the text and calls except no 3g. But you can send texts through wifi with the apps on the iPhone.

Is that the stuff you download, like music and movies, or is that just regular internet like using Safari and not downloading anything?
Does browsing on Safari “use up” those megabytes or do those megabytes only get used if I download a CD?

anything that requires a data connections is going to be using up your megabytes. Browsing the web, browsing and downloading apps and music, and a lot of the applications will all connect to the internet and use up your bandwidth.

From what I understand, unless you had an already unlimited plan, there is no more unlimited internet when you buy an iphone. its done my memory i guess, but can someone explain to me how that all works, and how much internet you get on it now that it’s not unlimited?

The teathering option means that if you have a laptop, and you’re in the middle of nowhere, you can plug your iphone into the laptop and use your iphone’s data plan to get the laptop on the internet…

Not worth it for most people because it’s easy to go threw 2 gig of data while browsing on a computer…

Hrmm I highly doubt that. The BB would lose most of its features like push alerts and such. They both cost 30 bucks so just call ATT and tell them to switch plans.

I think I remember reading somewhere that if you download apps with an unlocked iPhone, it becomes locked again. Can I download apps and upload my music from iTunes on it without it locking? Thanks!

u can do whatever u want as long as u dont UPDATE YOUR IPHONE’S FIRMWARE ! when itunes say that a new software is available for the iphone and asks u if u want to update say NO! if u do that then ur iphone will stay unlocked. nothing else can lock it again

Yes you can buy it for an add a line you will have to pay the thirty dollars for the data plan on top of the 9.99 but yea same as main line. And you get the iphone for the lowest price with a two year service agreement. I work for the man.
