Aptitude Habilitation Services provides intensive behavioral- and language-based therapies for children diagnosed with Autism. We are committed to helping children with Autism Spectrum Disorders reach their potential. We strive to give children the basic learning repertoires that all children need. We specialize in helping exceptional people achieve independent functioning in home and social environments.

As an ABA Tutor, you will be working one on one with children diagnosed with autism. Tutors provide therapy in a variety of settings including in home, or in a social/functional settings within the community. Tutors are responsible for their client for the entire session (1-4 hours) including keeping the child engaged, errorles teaching, setting up incidental learning opportunities, teaching appropriate play and social skills, and providing reinforcement.

Children in our program range from infant to 21 years in age. Shift times vary depending upon the age and needs of the client. Typically, services are provided in the afternoons, evenings, and occasional on weekend hours. Flexible schedules are available making this an ideal supplementary position for people currently employed as Instructional Assistants, Teachers, Students, and/or Parents with the requisite experience.

• Have a High School diploma or GED equivalent and have completed 500 hours of employment providing ABA services; OR

• Have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours of college coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral sciences, human development or related fields and be currently enrolled in a course of study leading to an associate’s or bachelor’s degree by an accredited college or university; OR

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Under the supervision of the Energy Partners Manager, the Energy Specialist will perform the following duties:

    A. Conduct in-home energy assessments for low income eligible clients.

    B. Analyze income records and other data to determine the eligibility of potential clients.

    C. Educate and interview potential clients interested in receiving weatherization services.

    D. Assess home to determine the weatherization measures needed to maximize the energy efficiency of the home.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    A. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general service contracts or governmental regulations in English.

    B. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

    C. Must be fluent in Spanish

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    A. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    A. Ability to solve practical problems

    B. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

    C. Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and staff both on and off duty as defined by agency ethical codes.

    EDUCATION:

    A. High School Diploma or equivalent

    EXPERIENCE:

    A. Should have at least one-year knowledge or experience with outreach in low income communities or equivalent.

    B. Basic knowledge of energy conservation measures.

    C. Must have reliable transportation and willing to use for job

    CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:

    • Valid California Driver’s license.

    • Proof of insurance on personal automobile.

    Satisfactory DMV printout of driving record

    Criminal Background Check

    Must be fluent in Spanish

    Must successfully complete 8 day training course at Stockton PGE training facilities.
